Nov / Dec BCs and our 2.1 Update

We wrapped up November and December with some truly fantastic events happening all around the globe! Here are just a few snapshots we can share.

Every time our community comes together, it’s something worth celebrating.

We hope everyone had a relaxing, recharging holiday season and is feeling energized for the year ahead. With so much promise on the horizon for Star Citizen, Squadron 42, and of course Bar Citizen, we’re pumped for what’s next and grateful to share the journey together.

We’re excited to see the continued momentum from the BCI team as we roll out new improvements and capabilities across the website as part of our 2026 roadmap. With the release of 2.1, we’ve brought several key event-management features online, which are designed to make life easier for both coordinators and attendees.

What’s new in 2.1:

1. Event List Page is now live!  A long-requested addition, the new event list may seem simple on the surface (“just list the events”), but it represents something much bigger: full integration between Bar Citizen’s technology stack and the Wix website backend. This is foundational work that unlocks much of what we want to build this year, making it a major step forward.
   

2. RSVP support and management  By leveraging Wix’s backend, we now offer a single, centralized place for the community to register for events and for coordinators to manage them. This creates a smoother experience for everyone involved.
   

3. Mobile event management and check-in  All coordinators who register an event now have access to the Wix check-in app. This enables on-the-go event monitoring, guest list updates, and attendance tracking. We’ve also heard the community request for ticketing beyond RSVPs to support venue capacity limits, and that’s something we’re aiming to tackle in a future release.. We've got a couple bugs we're ironing out here, so for a bit expect someone from BCI to send you your credentials till we get the last mile emails going
   

4. Native registration forms  That’s right!! No more Google Forms and no more hunting through cookie settings to find them. Registration is now handled natively on the Bar Citizen website, creating a smoother, more reliable experience for everyone. These forms will continue to evolve as we add new options and capabilities, making them in-house a big win for both coordinators and attendees.
   

We want to take a moment to thank all of our volunteers who continue to give their time, energy, and expertise to help improve the website and the overall Bar Citizen experience. Your dedication is what makes this community thrive. That said, it wouldn’t be a Star Citizen project if there weren't a couple of bugs; we’re sorting them out, but we’re confident that we can squash them quickly. 

Looking ahead, we’re planning to host a coordinator meeting soon to walk through our roadmap for the year. More details are coming, but we’re very excited about the incredible bar citizens already planned and what we’ll build together in the year ahead.
