Reports To: Chief Revenue Officer and BCI Executive Board
Description:
The Controller oversees BCI’s financial operations with a strong emphasis on nonprofit tax compliance and reporting. This includes budgeting, recordkeeping, and ensuring that taxes related to merchandise and events are properly collected, reported, and remitted where required.
Responsibilities:
Maintain accurate books, budgets, reconciliations, and financial reports
Ensure compliance with nonprofit financial standards and internal controls
Manage sales and use tax collection and remittance for merchandise and events where applicable
Coordinate nonprofit tax filings and donor acknowledgment practices with the Executive Board
Prepare clear financial summaries and dashboards for leadership review
Qualifications:
Experience in accounting or financial management with nonprofits
Strong knowledge of tax requirements related to nonprofit operations and merchandise sales
Proficiency with spreadsheets and accounting tools
High integrity and attention to detail with sensitive data
Clear communication skills and ability to collaborate across teams
